Another fire in araneta center

Image
We just witnessed another fire in Araneta Center. The last time this happened was when the dilapidated Farmers Plaza seemed really old and dingy. A fire suddenly happened and the New Farmers Plaza was built. What we have on fire now os the dilapidated building being used as a bus terminal which was formerly Rustans department store and grocery decades ago. I guess a new building is bound to be built there because of the "convenient" fire.

Insolent sign

Image
In another jerk move of alangkwenta center, here is a sign that shows utter insolence and arrogance. It is along the street between the rickety ancient coliseum and shopwise.

Losers

Image
I've been so busy these past few years that i forgot to update some blogs. I think alangkwentacenter inc lost their case. So to perpetuate their wannabe status, they copied SM and changed their name to alangkwenta city. Pero it is still located in Araneta Center and all addresses still show araneta center. Even google shows alangkwenta city inside Araneta Center so it is really a pointless waste of millions of pesos in marketing material, stickers on puvs and stuff. I dont know who their marketing people are but they should be fired. As you may have noticed, i use a small letter because, as an example of how they really feel and think, their logo is a small letter with a confusing amount of colors. Wannabes should just embrace their small nature and just be humble. If they do get to be big later on, then it would look better than how they look now. I hope that all the politicians they influence loses.

Philippine independence day

Image
Today is another independence day. Google posted this image on their page. Filipinos celebrated their independence and also mourned the loss of soldiers fighting for the country. The Perez family joins the filipinos in the celebration and the mourning. On a personal note, we’re also trying our best to fight oppression and we are trying to protect our freedom of speech as araneta center inc. sues to again take the domain name away from us. They have a whole bunch of other domains but i guess they want this one too. Pray that justice will prevail as we win the case and that they will finally stop bothering us.

Daang hindi matuwid ni mar

from a post of getrealphilippines: In case you can’t read the note below, here it is. “WOW. Do the numbers. 5 years is 260 weeks. Divide that into 180,000 and you get 3000 classrooms a week. Using a 5 day work week, 600 a day. This much activity would attract a lot of attention. In my travels, i have not observed any. Has any one of you got any pictures of all this work happening that they can share> Because if it is true, it is quite an engineering achievement.” Go ahead and vote for someone who claims this as true.

It is official. Araneta Center Inc. loses their case

I finally got the final notice that the court of appeals has denied the plea of Araneta center inc. to reverse the decision that their case with the IPO is unfounded. I get to keep my domain name and continue my website. I feel that it was all an attempt to take my legitimately owned domain. Tsk tsk. Bad bad company and owners. I hope karma treats you as you deserve. In any case, this blog will continue to feature things in Araneta center, the place not the company. I hope that more people will see the other parts of the place i call home. This will particularly include those that are not the property of the big bad company. This blog is a personal website about a place in cubao. It is a non-profit endeavor by someone who grew up and works in the area.
